White Dental Fillings

Tooth Fillings Without Metal

Over the years, the silver-mercury amalgam has been the typical filling used in dental practices, and many practices still offer metal fillings. While they work well from a functional perspective, amalgams have a couple problems. Metal does not attach well to tooth structure, so decay eventually leaks into the tooth. But the main reason many of our patients choose the white fillings has to do with appearance. Many people don’t want an ugly metal plug showing in their teeth. We offer restorations that are a natural-looking tooth color, are metal-free, and can even strengthen your teeth. They also securely bond to the healthy part of the tooth to limit the possibility of decay in the future.
